A way that saves energy, reduces lighting pollution and creates safer and more pleasant communal spaces for all that use them.
CEO and inventor of the Commulite system
Initially a surveyor, John founded a Mechanical and Electrical contracting business in 1986, through which he gained a unique insight into the challenges of providing reliable, robust and energy efficient communal and emergency lighting for social housing.
This insight led to the recognition that “there has to be a better way”, and the eureka moment came when John saw the potential of combining an intelligent control system with high quality LED lighting. John enjoys golf and tennis and is a keen musician.
Previously Managing Director for what was at the time the largest manufacturer of commercial and domestic boilers in Europe, Doug met John Bishop while working as a business consultant, specialising in renewable technology.
John recognised the value of Doug’s considerable experience and expertise, and asked him to help launch the new Commulite system.
In his spare time Doug enjoys golf, travel and is renown for his love of fine dining.
Having travelled extensively throughout Europe and Asia for several years, James’ has since enjoyed success working in the lighting industry, largely due to an unwavering commitment to good old-fashioned customer service.
Interests outside Commulite include cycling, motorcycles (both riding and crashing them), collecting vinyl and playing the guitar.
Having previously worked as a design consultant for a suppler of large-scale IT data centre systems, Paul is responsible for developing the Commulite product range, as well as site surveys, design and providing support to the installation teams.
Paul is a keen track day motorcyclist and tennis player.
